Origami looking tiger.
AI art generated using Adobe Firefly. Prompt: Origami tiger introducing herself to a class online in a discussion.

Purpose

You will use AI tools like Microsoft Copilot or ChatGPT to introduce yourself to others. In this assignment you will create a prompt and output and post those to a class discussion board.

AI in this Assignment

Use Generative AI tools to complete the assignment. (Microsoft Copilot is used in this example.)

Tasks (estimated completion time: 30 minutes)

Log into Microsoft Copilot with your UM account. Before typing in your prompt, you will need to choose between:

  • More Precise
  • More Balanced
  • More Creative

Write a prompt to create either a poem, song lyrics, short story, or image that represents something important to you (e.g., culture, family, hobby, interest). When creating an image, use your prompt to provide a precise description/details of what you want.

Example prompts:

Write instructions for a board game that involves you being trapped in a submarine full of members of your family and you need to create an escape plan using these available skills: nunchuck, bow hunting, a family photo album and computer hacking.

Create an image of a person (detail gender, ethnicity, etc.) rollerblading on the Oregon Trail while reading a book, surrounded by cats on rollerblades, illustrated.

Copy both the prompt and AI-generated content (image, poem, song lyrics, short story, etc.) to the class discussion.
